Sat Yoga Retreat Announcement

To Prospective Visitors: Please note that we are now in process of constructing our rural ashram. We do not yet reside there, nor can we yet offer any retreats there, nor any space for volunteers. We will inform you when the ashram officially opens. In the meantime, because we are working very hard to get the ashram ready for residency, we can no longer offer full immersion / karma yoga retreats at our urban center. You are welcome to apply to come as a visitor, and if accepted you will receive an orientation and you will be able to attend all general classes and meditation sittings, but we cannot guarantee that we will have time to offer individual sessions during this period. Visitors are responsible for arranging their own lodging, meals, and other details of their stay. We will provide a listing of hotels and B&Bs nearby to those who request such information. Thank you for your cooperation.

Karma Yoga Retreats

Karma Yoga :: Egoless work for the benefit of the whole! Karma Yoga :: Egoless work for the benefit of the whole! Karma Yoga :: Egoless work for the benefit of the whole! Karma Yoga :: Egoless work for the benefit of the whole!

If you wish to immerse yourself fully in the community and the spiritual transformation experience that we offer, then volunteering your time in service is the best way. We try to find opportunities for international visitors to apply your special skills and talents for the service and benefit of the whole, but also you will find there are daily opportunities to serve in the office, the garden, and the kitchen in helping the staff with the work in those areas. As part of Karma Yoga, we may also offer you the opportunity of transcribing advanced teachings, which is a wonderful educational experience. Those who are consistently present in the Center for karma yoga also have more opportunities to have short individual meetings with our spiritual director, whose guidance can greatly accelerate your spiritual development. You are invited to take advantage of this unique transformative environment, and we look forward to meeting you and being of service.

As mentioned before, right now, housing for Karma Yogis (volunteers) is very limited, but we have recently acquired land on which we hope soon to build an Ashram, where we will be able to accommodate many volunteer yogis and hold our retreats. In the meantime, we can provide information several very nice B&Bs just a few minutes’ walk from our Institute if requested.

We also ask that participants fill out a health form and questionnaire if they are interested in a retreat. These too will be provided in the retreat request.

We hope that you will apply for one of these wonderful volunteer retreats!

All blessings,
The Sat Yoga Staff
