Sat Yoga Retreat Announcement

To Prospective Visitors: Please note that we are now in process of constructing our rural ashram. We do not yet reside there, nor can we yet offer any retreats there, nor any space for volunteers. We will inform you when the ashram officially opens. In the meantime, because we are working very hard to get the ashram ready for residency, we can no longer offer full immersion / karma yoga retreats at our urban center. You are welcome to apply to come as a visitor, and if accepted you will receive an orientation and you will be able to attend all general classes and meditation sittings, but we cannot guarantee that we will have time to offer individual sessions during this period. Visitors are responsible for arranging their own lodging, meals, and other details of their stay. We will provide a listing of hotels and B&Bs nearby to those who request such information. Thank you for your cooperation.

Costs:

Our Center functions on love offerings, which means that we rely on community donations and volunteer work. These donations go toward the development of our ashram and the maintenance of the urban center. There are some exceptions in which we do charge a fee in order to cover our facility expenses. These include meals, individual transformation sessions, and study materials.

Sat Yoga Classes:

Our institute holds a variety of morning, noon, and evening meditation gatherings and spiritual classes & activities.

Sat Yoga teachings integrate all the world's wisdom traditions as well as contemporary sciences including quantum physics, cybernetics, information theory, biosemiotics, cognitive science, neuropsychology, psychoanalysis, Jungian analysis, transpersonal psychology, and other sciences and disciplines relevant to consciousness and psycho-spiritual growth.

Every week is different but here is a sample list of the classes/activities that are offered:

Individual atmanological sessions with Shunyamurti

Atmanology sessions are also part of our weekly practice, if the retreatant requests them. These valuable sessions with Shunyamurti lasts approximately 50 minutes for a specific donation that will go toward the development of our ashram and the maintenance of the urban center. For those on a low budget who want to do individual inner work, there are teacher-trainees who are available to conduct sessions, under the supervision of Shunyamurti, on a low-fee or no-fee basis. Individual transformational sessions with Shunyamurti must be requested at least two weeks before arrival, and preferably even earlier, because his schedule is very full.

Advanced and Clinical Training:

Those who are interested in the study of clinical atmanology may or may not be allowed to participate in our advanced classes, depending on your background and level of spiritual maturity and commitment. This will require an interview with the Training Director. Those who want to participate in the advanced training should also arrange to work individually atmanology sessions with Shunyamurti during their retreat.

Regarding accommodations:

We can provide information several very nice Bed&Breakfast's just a few minutes’ walk from our Urban Institute if requested. It is the responsibility of each participant to reserve their own sleeping accommodations.

Food:

Food is also something that is your own responsibility to take care of, however you are in luck! Many of our Sat Yoga family members/students enjoy a community lunch at the Center Monday-Thursday. Radha's Kitchen serves delightfully delicious gourmet vegetarian meals on-site for a donation of $10/meal. There are also several places to eat in the area.
