This Saturday evening at 6pm we are offering a very special event that you will not want to miss, so please mark your calendars!

We are showing a double feature that is actually a multi-feature. First, we shall screen the GlobalOneness Project, a collection of short films, each focusing on the work of an inspiring leader of a wonderful, innovative, compassionate, project of karma yoga, otherwise called seva, or service.

These projects range from the most basic (distribution of food and clothing and the saving of the seeds of endangered food plants) to the most intensely social (resolving conflicts among urban gangs) to the most spiritual (the transformation of the concept of religion). These grassroots efforts have been successful because of the utmost devotion and perseverance and egoless surrender of those great souls who have committed themselves to be responsible for transforming our world.

Many of these projects are occurring in Latin America (thus, much of the film is in Spanish, with English subtitles) and, predictably, many have been birthed in India, where the concepts of seva and karma yoga themselves were born.

Since the Sat Yoga Institute aspires to be a force for world transformation as well, we hope all those who participate in our satsangs and courses will come to this screening, and be inspired to co-create with us a wide range of spiritual social projects here in Costa Rica that can raise the consciousness of humanity and help bring about a new age of harmony and prosperity.

The second film is a documentary about one of the most extraordinary and most successful spiritual communities on our planet—the Federation of Damanhur. This amazing social project began with the mad idea of one man to create a new kind of temple for humanity within a mountain in the Italian Alps, in the Piedmont region. He had no money, but convinced a few others to begin digging, secretly and without modern equipment, and eventually they produced what many call one of the new wonders of the world. Around the temple complex, members of the project acquired more and more land (much was donated), and built a school of meditation, then an eco-village, then other cultural centers, farming projects, clinics for many types of spiritual healing, schools, and eventually an entire autonomous economic system, with their own currency! The population of Damanhur is now over 800, and they are continually experimenting with new social arrangements, their constitution continues to evolve through democratic processes, and they are having a positive influence on the larger Italian society—not to mention being an inspiration for others around the globe who hope to build eco-villages (including the Sat Yoga Institute).

We hope these films will be followed by lively discussion—and then action to make such projects happen here, based on the highest principles of ethical and spiritual consciousness. Please join us for this event—and let´s make it an opportunity to accelerate our own efforts to help in world transformation!

We are offering this movie night free of charge. But please call to register in advance, so we can make adequate preparations. Thanks.
