The Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life

Shunyamurti: Symbols can help you practically to live your life at the highest level of sensitivity to the Will of God. Recall, for example, that the Cross on which Yeshua (the ego) is crucified is also the Bodhi Tree, meditating under which Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment/Buddhahood. In other words, the cause of your suffering becomes the cause of your liberation.

The Cross is also Holy Rood, the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden. This equivalence contains the same message: the ego must die for its sins, but it dies into eternal life and bliss.

To Whom Does the Ego Belong?

Questioner: It is not the ego per se. It is the identity in the ego. You say "*your* ego" in the comment; so to whom does the ego belong to?

Silence is the Most Potent Diksha

Questioner: I hear and take in the information that "silence is the most potent diksha." I read things like "being still, doing nothing is the only thing that is not wasting time." I believe these things to be true and my life has become more internal and quiet the past few years. When boredom arises I sense that Spirit wouldn't be bored, yet a feeling always comes around after a while of "now what?" A belief I need to or want to do something. I feel like I must be missing something if I feel like the box keeps getting smaller instead of bigger. There are fewer places and people that I authentically connect with the more inward I go. My husband and I explore teachings like A Course in Miracles and experience glimpses of pure Joy. What good is it all if I'm just sitting in my house contemplating or being silent. There is sometimes a desire to join with others. Strangely my deepest experiences of silence has been in group meditation. I'm not sure if my question is clear, but can you speak to any of this? Thank you.
Questioner: I accept that my true nature is God in her entirety, and not just a part of the whole. However, I have trouble understanding why, in that case, I am only aware of a small portion of the phenomenal world, both with regard to the "external" environment and the "interior" of other psyches. Yes, I know that it is not my Self but my bodymind that has this limited awareness, and that the contents of consciousness are a passing, illusory show which are irrelevant to the open space of Pure Consciousness, but from what I understand realisation of the Self does not necessarily involve expanded awareness of the relative world, involving siddhis like remote viewing or clairvoyance, let alone omniscience, which it seems somehow would follow if the the Self is nondual and I am it. Can you explain?

Questioner: [Referring to this video] What latent powers do you speak of? The siddhis that are written about are few in number. Thank you Master!
