Relinquishing Power

Questioner: How might one relinquish his or her individual sense of power?
Questioner: [Paraphrasing a line from the teaching, "Transpersonal Psychology":] "When you get transpersonal you are transpsychological" -- nah. That is true of the psychology you talk about, but it's not true of all psychology. Many psychologies do teach disidentification, which is why they call themselves transpersonal. Transpersonal psychologists would agree with what you say about identification with a construct. It's pretty easy to say "psychology has nothing to do with spirituality" if you then ignore all the psychology that contradicts what you're saying.

Beyond the Construct

Questioner: If I have worked my entire life in this construct, trying to better the me that is within the construct, only to accept that me is an illusion, then what is the the point in my existence outside the construct? I'm afraid your lecture [referring to Shunyamurti's teaching, "Transpersonal Psychology"] has left me with more questions than answers...

The Status of the World and Concern for It

Questioner: Isn't there a philosophical contradiction in being concerned for this world (others) whilst at the same time being aware it simply isn't real, a mere projection from our minds which should evaporate once we are absorbed by the Real?

A Question of Theodicy

Questioner: Do you have any wisdom for one who wants to "be love" and yet has too many "Jobian" questions of theodicy - why does lila have to involve so much pain - how can it be "play" if so many beings are suffering - life feeding upon life?

Am I Worthy?

Questioner: Dear Friend

I do not know if you are Shunyamurti. If you are, I would like to let you know that your teachings are a constant reference and I always listen to them. I have noticed they make me question the very essence of my behavior and attitude towards others. I attended the dinner you offered in January, and I liked the sense of sacredness and spirituality of the session. I have a great sense of respect and admiration for the transformational work that you are doing, and I consider it to be absolutely important. I have already considered to get involved in your endeavor for making the light of God emerge in this world, via the transformation of my character, however, I do not know if I am worthy of being in your group, as there are some flaws and complexes in my character that I think may be a obstacle for me to achieve illumination. Perhaps there are ways for me to eliminate them. Since I got in touch with your teachings, they resonate in my head and I am trying to correct these negatives attitudes.

Doing vs. Not Doing vs. Non-Doing

Questioner: I have come across some teachers who say that there is absolutely nothing that you can do to be awakened, as any effort will create more duality.

They say no practice is needed. I was wondering if you agree with any part of their teachings.
