Where exactly are you located? What is your contact information?
If I wish to visit and participate in the Sat Yoga Institute, where do I start? (for local visitors)
We recommend that you first learn more about the Sat Yoga philosophy and study several of Shunyamurti´s online essays, audio podcasts, and video teachings. Once you feel informed, motivated, and resonate with our spiritual teachings, please call the Institute (2288-3294) and reserve a seat at one of our monthly open Satsangs.
If you feel a strong calling to begin your participation as soon as possible, please call or email us to register for a Free Orientation.
What is the schedule of your classes?
Do you offer asanas or hatha yoga classes?
The goal of our Institute is ultimate Self-realization and Liberation from suffering. We emphasize the yoga of the mind and heart, not that of the body. Although we are not primarily interested in hatha yoga we do offer an asana and movement class.
Our core practice is meditation, students focus on devoting time to silent sitting, guided meditations, creative writing meditation, and other exercises designed to augment Self-discovery and ego purification.
Is there a cost to participate?
Our Institute is part of a non-profit association. Most of our classes are free and fully based on love offerings (voluntary donations / karma yoga), but in order to be able to continue to serve and offer more classes in the future we depend on the generosity of our community.
We also offer monthly special events (seminars, movie nights, cooking classes, etc) in which we ask for suggested donations to help us raise funds to support our community projects.
When will your Ashram open? Is your Ashram ready for retreats?
We are now in the process of constructing our rural ashram. We do not yet reside there and, therefore, cannot host long-term volunteers, but we do offer Sat Yoga meditation retreats there throughout the year. If you wish to visit our ashram land on a retreat, please visit our retreat informational page. We will inform all our online newsletter subscribers when the ashram officially opens.
I am interested in visiting Sat Yoga for a retreat, what should I do? (for international visitors)
Currently, we are hosting Sat Yoga transformational retreats at our rural ashram location about every 6 weeks. Please visit our retreats page to learn more about upcoming retreats.
